Charlie performs for 2500 people!
Last week, my extremely talented student Charlie had the incredible opportunity to perform for an audience of 2,500 people at the prestigious Liverpool Philharmonic Concert Hall. Charlie secured this remarkable gig through connections he formed while working with the Royal Marines Band; they kindly allowed him to showcase his skills in a special celebration of their dedicated services. He played the challenging piece "Juice" by Steve Vai, which is not only technically demanding but also requires a great deal of confidence to perform in front of such a large crowd. I introduced this piece to him during our lessons in November and December of 2021, and it has been rewarding to witness his journey as he has truly mastered it over the years. I am immensely proud of him and this significant achievement, and I sincerely hope it serves as a source of inspiration for both my current and future students, encouraging them to aim as high as they can. Charlie has been taking lessons with me for four years now, and during that time, he has evolved from a lower intermediate level guitarist into an advanced musician who possesses a remarkable stage presence. His progress is a real testament to what can be achieved with dedication and hard work between lessons.
